Match pairs that sum to 13
Remove all cards from the pyramid by matching exposed card pairs that add up to 13. Kings are removed alone. Draw from the stock when you need more options.
Pyramid Solitaire is built around one elegant idea: every pair you remove must add up to exactly 13. Twenty-eight cards are dealt in 7 overlapping rows that form a pyramid, and your job is to dismantle it pair by pair until nothing is left.
The card values take a minute to learn and stick forever. Aces count as 1, number cards count as their face value, jacks are 11, and queens are 12. Kings are worth 13 on their own, so they are removed alone — always a free move. A card is "exposed" and ready to play when both cards covering it from the row below have been removed.
The remaining 24 cards form a stock pile. Draw them one at a time to a waste pile, and pair the top waste card with exposed pyramid cards. That is all there is to how to play Pyramid Solitaire — the depth comes from order, because removing pairs in the right sequence exposes more useful cards deeper in the pyramid.
Pyramid Solitaire strikes a nice balance between luck and skill. While the deal is random, thoughtful play significantly increases your chances of clearing the pyramid — and every deal here is free, instant, and right in your browser.
